The latest statistical data from the Jiangyin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau shows that in the first quarter, the export of food grade phosphoric acid in Jiangyin reached 48000 tons, with a value of 38.908 million US dollars, an increase of 39.9% and 31.2% year-on-year, respectively, achieving the ninth consecutive quarter of growth since 2011. In addition, in 2012, Jiangyin exported 150000 tons of food grade phosphoric acid with a value of 123 million US dollars, an increase of 27% and 33.7% respectively compared to the previous year.

At present, the prices of phosphoric acid raw materials and finished products are inversely linked. In the past, due to the advanced production process of Jiangyin thermal phosphoric acid, there was a significant competitive advantage in quality. However, since the beginning of this year, the purification technology of wet process phosphoric acid in Guizhou has been improved, the product quality has been improved, and the cost is lower than that of the Jiangyin hot process phosphoric acid process, which has intensified the competition between the quality and price of phosphoric acid products, leading to a continuous decrease in finished product prices.

It is reported that Jiangyin's export of phosphoric acid can still maintain significant growth without price advantages, mainly thanks to technological innovation. Since the beginning of this year, Chengxing Phosphorus Company has collaborated with Yunnan Chemical Research Institute to carry out technical transformation of the production process, changing the one-step method to a two-step method, using a production process of burning first and then hydration. In addition, Chengxing Phosphorus products have successfully obtained the REACH registration of the European Union, stabilizing the European market, and winning new orders from major customers in South Korea. The number of exports to South Korea has increased significantly, all of which have added impetus to the export of phosphoric acid.
